Charles is said to have been sent to study at Gordonstoun, in the 1960s, by his father, Prince Philip – who had also studied there.. Charles was the first Prince of Wales to be educated at a school, as opposed to private tutors.
Gordonstoun’s founder, Dr Kurt Hahn, described the Moray Firth as his ‘best school master’. To this day, sailing is a key element of a Gordonstoun education. These skills can then be put to use back in the classroom where they will help students focus, problem solve and take new challenges in their stride.
