It’s the old story that a dancer must be highly skilled to make their style look so very idiosyncratic, and I kept on thinking how I would never in a million years be able to pull of such a routine.
Harvey Girls. In the mid 1800’s, Fred Harvey, a businessman and entrepreneur, opened a chain of restaurants alongside the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway. These restaurants were staffed by single, intelligent women, 18-30 years of age, with “good character.”. These women came to be known as the Harvey Girls.
