Einen hochmoralischen Horrorfilm, der aber auch viel Spaß an der blutigen Meuchelei hat: Eli Roth lässt auf seinen "Thanksgiving"-Fake-Trailer einen ausgewachsenen Langfilm folgen, bleibt aber inhaltlich und stilistisch weitgehend dem eigenen Jugendzimmer treu. Im Grunde ist der Horrorfilm zutiefst moralisch.
