The plot is a bewildering jumble of half-baked ideas, from which we gather just enough of a glimmer about the story to understand how it is shot through with contradictions and paradoxes. 'FearDotCom' is a deeply eccentric film with what seems like the supremely generic early 2000's netsploitation title of all time but which ends up being appropriate. All sorts of connections are made here between the early days of German Expressionist Cinema and the early days of the World Wide Web and their shared ability to make a collective cultural dreamspace and how we utilize that space.
