Kingsley was born in Barnet, London, England. His mother, the daughter of Trinidadian immigrants, converted to Judaism. His mother, along with Kingsley and his brother, took on the name "Ben-Adir." The words ben adir are Hebrew, meaning "son of the strong or mighty.". Trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, graduated in 2011.
