Eric Johns was a guitarist in the international disco band Heatwave. He left the band in 1978 and began a production career in Christchurch, New Zealand.

Eric Johnson (Austin, 17 de agosto de 1954) es un guitarrista estadounidense de rock instrumental, aunque en sus grabaciones incorpora elementos de jazz fusión, New Age y country. Es considerado uno de los más virtuosos guitarristas de su género y la revista Guitar Player lo llamó "uno de los guitarristas más respetados del planeta".

It was the last Heatwave album to feature bassist Mario Mantese and guitarist Eric Johns, as well as the first to feature new member Roy Carter on guitar. The album was also the final performance of Rod Temperton as an official member of Heatwave, although he would continue to write songs for the band after his departure until 1982.
