Hace 3 días · It has been many years since I last read Perelandra, so as part of my reading challenge this year, “The Book of Centuries,” Perelandra was an enjoyable re-read and fitting as a selection from the 20th century. For Perelandra clearly belongs to the 20th century, with a very modern setting unlike that of my readings from the previous centuries.
Hace 3 días · Perelandra continues the adventures of Dr. Elwin Ransom as he is sent by angels (eldila) to a new planet, Perelandra (or Venus), inside a spaceship shaped like a coffin. When Ransom arrives, he has this mysterious sense that he is participating in a myth and wonders multiple times throughout the tale whether all myths on Earth are just shadows of real happenings in other worlds.

Tiger! is sometimes better known as The Stars My Destination , was published in 1943, during the Second World War, which is referred to a couple of times as taking place a long way from the concerns of this book.
Hace 2 días · Perelandra: (Space Trilogy, Book Two): It’s been a bit slow getting back into this one, but there are some great descriptions of what ‘not this world’ might look like. The Fox Wife: Definitely have some misgivings about this one, especially around how animal/spirit worship shows up in the plot, but I want to find out where the story is going.
