Harvey Goldstein (30 October 1939 – 9 April 2020) was a British statistician known for his contributions to multilevel modelling methodology, statistical software, social statistics, and for applying this to educational assessment and league tables.

27 de jul. de 2022 · Harvey Goldstein's career as a statistician was both long and distinguished. It extended from his time as a postgraduate student at UCL in 1962 right up to his death on 9 April 2020, a period of more than 57 years.

Harvey Goldstein died in April 2020 aged 80, an early victim of the Coronavirus pandemic. During the course of his career he made getting on for 400 published contributions to the development of statistical methods and to the substantive analysis of various educational, social and medical issues.
