Originally, the Kellogg brothers, Dr. John Harvey Kellogg and Will Keith Kellogg, developed corn flakes as a health food for patients at the Battle Creek Sanitarium in Michigan. The discovery was somewhat accidental when boiled wheat was left out and became stale.
