Harvey Goldstein (30 October 1939 – 9 April 2020) was a British statistician known for his contributions to multilevel modelling methodology, statistical software, social statistics, and for applying this to educational assessment and league tables.
Harvey Goldstein, FBA, was a professor of social statistics at the University of Bristol and a pioneer of multilevel modelling. He passed away in 2020 at the age of 80, leaving a legacy of influential research, software and public service.

27 de jul. de 2022 · A tribute to Harvey Goldstein, a distinguished statistician who worked at the Institute of Child Health for over 50 years. He made major contributions to the analysis of children's growth and development data, using methods such as GAMLSS, conditional regression and SITAR.
Harvey Goldstein, FBA who was Professor of Social Statistics at the School of Education, University of Bristol has sadly passed away on the 9 th April 2020, aged 80 years. He is survived by his wife Barbara and son, Tom.
Harvey Goldstein died in April 2020 aged 80, an early victim of the Coronavirus pandemic. During the course of his career he made getting on for 400 published contributions to the development of statistical methods and to the substantive analysis of various educational, social and medical issues.
