The first meeting did not, however, take place at Poona, for, only a few days before Christmas, some sporadic cases of cholera occurred and it was thought wiser to move the Conference, now called the Congress, to Bombay.

First session of Indian National Congress, Bombay, 28–31, December, 1885. The first spurts of nationalistic sentiment that rose amongst Congress members were when the desire to be represented in the bodies of government, to have a say, a vote in the lawmaking and issues of administration of India.
15 de jun. de 2020 · The Indian National Congress was founded at Bombay in December 1885. The early leadership – Dadabhai Naoroji, Pherozeshah Mehta, Badruddin Tyabji, W.C. Bonnerji, Surendranath Banerji, Romesh Chandra Dutt, S. Subramania Iyer, among others – was largely from Bombay and Calcutta.
The Bombay (Mumbai City) Session of the Indian National Congress on 26th October, 1934, was a turning point for the organisation owing to a number of major changes that were made in the constitution of the Congress. The session was conducted under the presidency of Dr Rajendra Prasad.

The location was later changed to Bombay (current-day Mumbai), due to an outbreak of the epidemic in Poona. The lesson was held at the Gokuldas Tejpal Sanskrit Pathshala in Bombay.
