15 Minutes with Bing Crosby was Bing Crosby's first solo radio series, which aired on the CBS network from September 2, 1931 until October 31 of the same year. It was to have a major impact on his career.
Crosby managed to score on radio in 1931, and a series of two-reel comedies made for Mack Sennett helped him launch a screen career; his starring feature debut was in 1932's The Big Broadcast. During this period, he married singer Dixie Lee, with whom he had sons Gary, Dennis, Philip and Lindsay.
Despite warnings of Bing's playboy reputation CBS signed Bing to an unsponsored daily 15-minute broadcast for a remarkable sum of $1500 a week -- equivalent to more than $25,000 in 2019 dollars. Bing was scheduled to debut in a live CBS network radio show on Monday, August 31, 1931.

3 de may. de 2016 · On September 2, 1931, CBS began airing 15 Minutes with Bing Crosby, which helped to further catapult Bing into his huge success. Crooning popular ballads in the same vein as Russ Columbo, with periodic whistling and interjections of his trademark “buh-buh-buh-boo”, Bing hit his peak in the 1930s, and stayed there for about a decade.
Crosby left Washington for Los Angeles in 1925, where he joined Paul Whiteman’s orchestra and became one-third of a singing trio, “The Rhythm Boys.” Crosby made his solo radio debut over CBS on September 2, 1931.
