But the writing is actually pretty good, and there's some good character acting going on, which neatly provides a balance to Webb's deadpan delivery. Sun, Apr 26, 1959. An ex-band singer of Pete's keeps hounding him for a master disc of a recording they made months earlier, but he brushes her off. He's then kidnapped by her gangster boyfriend when she tells him Pete attacked her. Then his friend with the recording studio is murdered.
