Frances Kazan (born 1946) is an English-born American author, best known for her 2002 historical novel Halide’s Gift.
English born Frances Kazan is a writer, lecturer, producer and arts supporter. Her most recent novel The Dervish (published April 2013 by Opus Press, New York) is an adventure story set in Istanbul and Angora ,modern day Ankara, in 1919, during the rise of Ataturk and the creation of Modern Turkey.
Frances Kazan has two adult children, and has lived in New York City for more than thirty years. Every week she volunteers at a Bronx shelter run by Sanctuary for Families – a private non profit organization that helps abused women and children.

Frances Kazan. Writer. I have been a member of the Library since 1978. There were the early years, when I wrote my first novel in the communal writing room. In those days, typewriters were not permitted in the writing rooms; we wrote in longhand.
