Sharon Mew Elastica were an English rock band formed in London in 1992 by ex- Suede members Justine Frischmann and Justin Welch . The band was stylistically influenced by punk rock , post-punk and new wave music . [2]
Frischmann reconnected with Annie Holland in early 1999 and formed a new line-up of the band, including Justin Welch, keyboardist/vocalist Sharon Mew, formerly of Heave, guitarist Paul Jones (Linoleum's former member) and keyboardist Dave Bush, formerly of The Fall.
Actualmente es pintora, reside en California y está casada con un científico especializado en meteorología. Justin Welch: En el 2005 formó parte de la banda de rock Beauty School y se casó con Sharon Mew; ambos viven en Devon. En 2012 formó The Asbo Kid junto a su amigo James Atkin, frontman de EMF.
4 de oct. de 2010 · Donna Matthews (la chica pelirroja de la foto de arriba) dejó la banda a finales de 1998 (algunos fechan su marcha en 1996, otros en 1999, así que no está muy claro) y fue sustituida por el guitarrista Paul Jones. También se incorporó la teclista Sharon Mew y Annie Holland volvió al grupo en 1999.

Sharon Mew – keyboards, vocals (1999–2001) This band split up in 2001 after their second album, The Menace. In 2017 their debut album was remastered to be re-released on RSD.
14 de feb. de 2022 · The break with the past did help propel Elastica forward. Two new members were recruited: guitarist Paul Jones replaced Matthews in late 1998 and a few months later Sharon Mew was added for backing vocals and additional keyboards. In August 1999, the band released its first new music in four years.
