The missing symphony was created by digitally uploading all fifteen of Dimitri Shostakovich's symphonies. The average length of each was worked out, all of the symphonies were stretched or compressed to the average length and then layered on top of each other, thus creating a missing symphony.
V/Vm is the experimental music and sound collage project of Leyland James Kirby, from Stockport, England. Although starting out mainly in the style of noise music, Kirby is also a composer of original electronic music and remixes.

And that's pretty much what The Missing Symphony is. There's no additional instrumentation, no distortion or conscious manipulation of the original sounds - the whole album was created purely by overlaying the fifteen symphonies of Dimitri Shostakovich.
