Alcorn State University (Alcorn State, ASU or Alcorn) is a public historically black land-grant university adjacent to Lorman, Mississippi. It was founded in 1871 and was the first black land grant college established in the United States.
Alcorn State University is the nation’s oldest, historically black, land-grant university (HBCU) and the second oldest public university in Mississippi. Alcorn State offers bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees in more than 50 top-degree programs.

Alcorn State University is a public institution that was founded in 1871. It has a total undergraduate enrollment of 2,346 (fall 2022), and the campus size is 1,756 acres.
Alcorn State University offers more than 15 graduate programs in the School of Agriculture and Applied Sciences, Arts and Sciences, Business, Education, and Health Sciences. The University offers programs that lead to a specialist and master’s degrees.
