Jamie Salé began her figure skating career in singles and won bronze medals in the novice and junior categories of the Canadian Championships before coming in third at the senior level pairs competition with partner Jason Turner in 1994.

Jamie Salé and David Pelletier were at the centre of the biggest judging scandal in Olympic figure skating history at Salt Lake City 2002 where they became co-Olympic champions in the pairs event. They were Canada’s first Olympic figure skating gold medallists in 42 years.
