Josef Erich Zawinul. Músico austriaco de jazz. Nació el 7 de julio de 1932 en Viena, Austria. Siendo niño tocaba el acordeón y después se pasa al piano. Cursó estudios en el Conservatorio de Viena y en 1944 junto a otros estudiantes fueron evacuados a Checoslovaquia debido a la guerra.
