Steven Alan Hawley (born December 12, 1951) is a former NASA astronaut who flew on five U.S. Space Shuttle flights. He is professor of physics and astronomy and director of engineering physics at the University of Kansas.

Steven Hawley earned his Ph.D. in astronomy and astrophysics from UCSC in 1977 and flew on five space shuttle missions, including Hubble and Chandra deployments. He now directs astromaterials research and exploration science at NASA's Johnson Space Center.
