Bruce Alan Beutler (Chicago, Illinois, 29 de diciembre de 1957) es un inmunólogo y genetista estadounidense. Bruce Alan Beutler (/ ˈ b ɔɪ t l ər / BOYT-lər; born December 29, 1957) is an American immunologist and geneticist. Together with Jules A. Hoffmann, he received one-half of the 2011 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine, for "discoveries concerning the activation of innate immunity."
Bruce Beutler is a distinguished professor and director of the Center for Genetics of Host Defense at UT Southwestern. He discovered the receptors and pathways that trigger the inflammatory response to infections and received the 2011 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine.

3 de oct. de 2011 · Bruce Beutler descubrió en 1998 que un receptor del gen Toll (Toll-like receptor o TLR) era el responsable de reconocer a ciertos productos bacterianos (lipopolisacáridos o LPS) que sobreestimulaban el sistema inmune. La respuesta del sistema inmune se desencadenaba cuando TLR se acoplaba a los LPS.
