1 de sept. de 2020 · A puncture initially saw Sainz drop back early in the stage. However, he soon fought his way back into the lead. He led at the 250-kilometre waypoint and was never caught thereafter. “We started well but then, unfortunately, we had to change a tyre,” said Sainz.
2 de ago. de 2020 · It was striking that the two Mercedes drivers both suffered similar failures as they tried to make their hard tyres last 40 laps, as did Carlos Sainz Jnr. A curious feature of the race was the poor pace of Racing Point.
And, with three laps to go, he moved up to fourth after Valtteri Bottas suffered a puncture on his Mercedes. In the penultimate lap, an unfortunate puncture on the front left tyre took away his fourth place.
2 de feb. de 2021 · Britain – Norris outqualifies Sainz again, but Sainz overtakes him at the start and leads Norris for the majority of the race, before failing to look after his tyres sufficiently and dropping out of the points with a puncture at the end of the race.
At the same time, fourth-placed Sainz suffered a front-left tyre failure. He returned to the pits and eventually fell to 14th place by the finish line. After Bottas' puncture, race leader Hamilton was warned over the radio to preserve his tyres.
