The Axe of Regrowth is a pre-hardmode weapon crafted from a Staff of Regrowth. Like the Staff of Regrowth, it increases the yield of any herbs and seeds harvested. When used on Dirt Blocks, Grass will be planted without the need for seeds.
Axes are basic tools that a player can use to destroy trees and cacti, including their variants. They can also be used as weapons. Not really. There's the Axe of Purity but it's not as good as the Clentaminator for removing evil biomes. Also Astral Infection doesn't spread naturally so you don't have to worry about that.

The Corruption is an evil biome with a dark purple wasteland, death, and decay theme, with an evil forest design to it, in contrast to the red gore theme of its counterpart, The Crimson.
There are things in the Corruption that are needed to progress through the game. One example is the Shadow Orbs that can be broken to summon the Eater of Worlds, which is needed in order to craft Shadow armor and, most importantly, the Nightmare Pickaxe .
