Herb Alpert (born March 31, 1935) is an American trumpeter who led the band Herb Alpert & the Tijuana Brass (sometimes called "Herb Alpert and the TJB") in the 1960s. During the same decade, he co-founded A&M Records with Jerry Moss.

24 de may. de 2019 · The story of the Tijuana Brass is largely the story of Herb Alpert, the famed jazz-pop trumpeter who assembled them as his live and sometimes studio band. Alpert was the son of immigrant Jews from Romania and the Ukraine, most of whom already played some sort of instrument.
The Tijuana Brass Era. Back in the late 1950’s through the early 1960’s, Herb Alpert tried his hand at recording and writing songs, including a couple of vocal efforts under the name of Dore Alpert.
