1. Establish clear feedback goals and priorities. Before you sit down to review papers, reflect on what you want students to take away from your feedback. What do you want them to think, feel, or do when they review this feedback (Frost, 2016)?
Prioritize your comments. Start with bigger concerns—the quality of the argument, the thesis, and the structure of the paper—and then move to smaller issues like wordiness, grammar, punctuation, spelling, etc. Summarize comments in a paragraph or two.
