His body was replaced by the armor. In the same way that it forced a part of itself into Guts flesh to set his broken bones it has replaced the entirety of his body. If you'll recall Flora said something to the effect of it kept his body fighting even after it was completely drained of his blood.
Even without Griffith, Guts has yet to beat Zodd 1v1 so if you add in all the other Apostles, Guts gets stomped. Zodd is pretty proud though and probably wouldn’t attack Guts if he was outnumbered so Guts might be able to take on the rest of them first before fighting Zodd.

In the Guardians of Desire chapters, Guts saw Femto, walked up to him, and went "Your ass is grass!" and Femto went "No u" and deflected the attack from the Dragon Slayer and sent Guts flying toward a wall, injuring him.

Femto could have easily killed Guts during the Eclipse (and when they met again in the Black Swordsman story arc), but he didn't. Why? Probably because he really doesn't want Guts to die.
