The Institute of Indology is an attempt to define an architecture appropriate to the Indian climate, relying both on a contemporary structural instrument – the concrete frame – and on schemes of order with an ancient pedigree in the Ahmedabad region.

It is located in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. The building follows the modern style of architecture. The design of the building was inspired by Kurashiki Town Hall by Ar Kenzo Tange.
The Lalbhai Institute of Indology is an institutional as well as cultural project located in Ahmedabad, India. The project was completed in the year 1962 by the 2018 Pritzker laureate, Balkrishna Doshi, an Indian architect, educator, and academician.
