Here is the video game “SimAnt”! Released in 1991 on DOS, it's still available and playable with some tinkering. It's a simulation game, set in an ecology / nature theme and it was released on Windows 3.x, Amiga, FM Towns and Sharp X68000 as well.
In SimAnt, the player plays the role of an ant in a colony of black ants in the back yard of a suburban home. The ant colony must battle against enemy red ants. The ultimate goal is to spread throughout the garden, into the house, and finally to drive out the antlions, spiders and human owners.
