Show Caption Students of U.S. Naval War College’s (NWC) 2019 graduating class participate in a commencement ceremony on Dewey Field in Newport, R.I., June 14. The graduating class of 2019 included 318 resident students of the Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, federal civilian employees and 110 international students.
The mission of the National War College is to educate future leaders of the Armed Forces, State Department, and other civilian agencies for high-level policy, command, and staff responsibilities. To do this, NWC conducts a senior-level course of study in national security policy and strategy for selected U.S. and foreign military officers and federal officials.
He earned an MA from Old Dominion University and an MS from the Naval Postgraduate School. A graduate of the Air Command and Staff College, the Air War College, the Naval War College, the Joint and Combined Warfighting School, and the TOPGUN program, he has flown over 6,000 hours and has over 1,000 carrier landings.
U.S. Naval War College is home to nine individual colleges, as well as specialized groups and research centers. Each of these units contributes to our mission of developing future leaders, whether through rigorous academics, practical learning experiences, or professional development opportunities.
The U.S. Naval War College (NWC) Learning Commons is a hub for information and research resources, as well a center for writing and teaching assistance. The Learning Commons includes the Henry E. Eccles library, the Information Resources helpdesk, the Writing and Teaching Excellence Center, and an upstairs café and refreshment area.
