En teoría Wagon Master pertenece a ese grupo. Sin embargo, en esta película -como en "No eran imprescindibles", "The rising of the moon" y tantas otras de sus obras menos conocidas- encontramos mucho del Ford más libre y genuino. Película de argumento leve, casi anecdótico, Ford se siente en su salsa filmándola, y se nota.
