A five-time Academy Award nominee, Jones won the Academy Award for Best Actress for her performance in The Song of Bernadette (1943).

Many claimed he had never gotten over losing Jennifer. Jones hit bottom in 1967, when she was found in a coma on a Malibu beach after taking an overdose of sleeping pills. Slowly, she recovered and regained her footing. In 1971, Jones married another powerful man: industrialist and philanthropist Norton Simon.
