One is a cop, the other an ex-cop who now runs an ice house and suffers some form of PTSD after a woman hits him on the head with a beer bottle causing him to start killing anyone who raises a bottle in his direction. A serial killer who works in an ice house murders women, then brings their bodies back to the ice house and stores them there. He also murders his identical twin brother, who is a policeman, and takes his place in the investigation.

Phoebe lives with her friends Diana and Anne at their country mansion, but they are the target of vicious village gossip. When their gardener discovers a body in the disused ice house, a 10-year-old murder investigation is reopened.
