A Patch of Blue is absolutely beautiful, a real gem, a great example of filmmaking excellence. Elizabeth Hartman is astounding, she was nominated for the Best Actress Oscar for her work and I can see why, she is so heartbreaking and touching, it’s even crazier to think it was her very first acting job, such an emotional performance.
4 de feb. de 2003 · After seeing "Patch of Blue" I still made my case for "Repulsion", but qualified it by saying only Hartman's performance was in the same class as that of Deneuve. Which was quite a concession for me but both performances are truly wonderful. As for "Patch of Blue", I found it absolutely amazing-close to perfection.
