Alexandria City High School opened in 1965 as T.C. Williams High School as a desegregated high school amalgamated from Francis C. Hammond High School, George Washington High School, and Parker-Gray High School. In 2007, a new state-of-the-art, environmentally green school opened its doors at the present site.
