  7. Arch of Triumph may not be equal to that but it is very good, a beautifully written novel that stands on it's own merit and one that I enjoyed reading from start to finish. The setting is 1938 Paris, nervous about the unrest in Europe prior to the start of World War II, and filled with expatriates and refugees of many nationalities.
