Ralph Towner (born March 1, 1940) is an American multi-instrumentalist, composer, arranger and bandleader. He plays the twelve-string guitar, classical guitar, piano, synthesizer, percussion, trumpet and French horn.
Blues Connotation is an album by American blues guitarist Robben Ford. The album A Song I thought I heard Buddy Sing contains material from the same sessions and was released in 1993 under Jerry Granelli's name.

Ralph Towner is best known as the lead composer, guitarist, and keyboardist for the acoustic jazz ensemble “Oregon.” He has also seen a rich solo career on the ECM label and has collaborated with contemporary musicians such as John Abercrombie, Larry Coryell, Keith Jarrett and Gary Peacock.
