If I had to describe his sound, I’d call it a mix of soul, funk, jazz and hip-hop, fused with exquisite musicianship. Flea once called him “the greatest bass player” and Prince selected him as a musical collaborator.

Influenced equally by blues, classic soul and art movements such as Dadaism, he’s a solo and session artist best known for being the last bassist to work with Prince before the Minneapolis legend’s premature death in 2016.
