A Star Fell from Heaven is a 1936 British comedy film directed by Paul Merzbach and starring Joseph Schmidt, Florine McKinney and Billy Milton. It was made at Elstree Studios. [1] It was a remake of the 1934 Austrian film of the same name which had also starred Schmidt.
In this comedy, a talented singer is hired to dub the voice of a star who has lost his own. During the film's premiere, news that he sang the songs slips out and suddenly he finds that he himself has become a star. Unfortunately he soon encounters unanticipated problems.

When a renowned singer loses his voice after accidentally drinking cologne, the talented-but-unknown Josef is hired to dub the star’s voice in an upcoming film. But when the press gets hold of the story, it’s Josef who becomes the star.
A music student is hired to dub an indisposed tenor in a film entitled A Star fell from Heaven. He does it to become successful and be able to propose to his beloved, his housekeeper's daughter. But things won't be so easy.
