Bruce Anthony Conte (March 3, 1950 – August 8, 2021) was an American R&B and jazz fusion guitarist, known primarily for his work with the band Tower of Power, of which he was a member from 1972 to 1979. He performed on seven albums, and rejoined the band for live work briefly in 2006-2007.

16 de ago. de 2021 · When word reached me this past Sunday (August 8th) that my oldest close friend, guitarist Bruce Conte, had passed away, I was shocked and stunned. Bruce—legendary for his 7-year, 7-album stint with the iconic soul band Tower of Power in the 1970’s—had dealt with a lot of health issues over the years, including leukemia.
(August 10, 2021) With a social media post this morning, Tower of Power leader Emilio Castillo gave fans bad news about Bruce Conte, a longtime member of the legendary band: We in the Tower of Power family are sad to acknowledge that our dear brother, Bruce Conte, has passed.
