It's definitely an interesting story, and I got to learn a decent bit about Latin American wars of independence and the wanky way in which British people participated in them.

MacGregor's life and story as one of the world's most despicable con-men is described in detail that is easy to read and enjoyable, despite the tragedy that befell many of MacGregor's followers.
