Anthony Mann (born Emil Anton Bundsmann; June 30, 1906 – April 29, 1967) was an American film director and stage actor. He came to prominence as a skilled director of film noir and Westerns, and for his historical epics. Mann started as a theatre actor appearing in numerous stage productions.

Anthony Mann was born on 30 June 1906 in San Diego, California, USA. He was a director and writer, known for El Cid (1961), Men in War (1957) and The Glenn Miller Story (1954). He was married to Anna, Sara Montiel and Mildred Mann. He died on 29 April 1967 in London, England.

Born Emil Anton Bundsmann in the Point Loma area of San Diego, Mann was the son of Jewish-Austrian immigrants Emile Theodore Bundsmann, and his wife Bertha Waxelbaum (original Jewish surname: Weichselbaum) of Macon, Georgia.
