Peter Ashmore was one of Britain's foremost theatre directors from 1947 when he directed his first big London West End hit, "Edward, My Son", through to 1961 when he directed his last play, the unsuccessful "Mr Rhodes."

Peter Ashmore was born on 29 January 1916 in Highgate, London, England, UK. He was an actor and director, known for Thursday Theatre (1964), The Ipcress File (1965) and Portrait of Clare (1950). He was married to Petra, 'Gullstrand' and Rosalie Crutchley. He died on 26 July 1997 in Cork, Ireland.
