Although not as recognized as Reid and Edmonds, another Deele member, Kevin "Kayo" Roberson maintained his association with the two, and was an instrumental part of the production team's success behind the scenes as a songwriter, co-producer, and studio bassist.

The members of the group include Cincinnati-born founders, bassest Kevin “Kayo” Robinson, drummer Antonio “L.A.” Reid, and vocalists Darnell “Dee” Bristol. Vocalists Stanley “Stick” Burke, and Carlos “Satin” Greene joined the R&B band shortly after the founding in 1981.
