Omar Hakim (born February 12, 1959) is an American drummer, producer, arranger and composer. His session work covers jazz, jazz fusion, and pop music.

Both artists appeared with Wayne Shorter: Omar with Weather Report, Rachel on Shorter’s 1997 “High Life” record. In 1990, she co-wrote the Grammy-winning gold record “Tokyo Blue” with the saxophonist Najee. Omar played on that record and four others with Najee.
Yosuke Onuma, one of the top young guitarists in the Japanese music scene and Ken Ota, one of the brightest upcoming artists in Japan will kick off Blue Note Tokyo meets TOKYO JAZZ 2006 as opening acts.
