Otto Förschner (4 November 1902 – 28 May 1946) was a German Schutzstaffel (SS) officer and a Nazi concentration camp commander.

Camp commandant throughout most of the short history of Dora and Mittelbau was SS-Sturmbannführer Otto Förschner, who had served in subsidiary positions at Buchenwald since February 1942, after service on the Eastern Front.
Otto Förschner was not a defendant in the Dora Trial, since he had already been executed after being convicted in the Dachau camp trial. The court convicted 15 Dora SS guards and Kapos (one of them was executed), four defendants were acquitted.
Otto Förschner was convicted by a US military tribunal and sentenced to death, along with 35 other co-defendants, on 13-12-1945. He was hanged in Landsberg prison by the English hangman Albert Pierrepoint on 28-05-1946, age 43.
Mittelbau-Dora (a subcamp of Buchenwald concentration camp) was a forced labour concentration camp near Nordhausen in Germany. It was the last major concentration camp to be established in the Third Reich. On August 28, 1943 the first 107 concentration camp inmates arrived at the Kohnstein hill near Nordhausen with their SS guards.
