Peter Zumthor (German pronunciation: [ˈpeːtɐ ˈtsuːmtoːɐ̯]; born 26 April 1943) is a Swiss architect whose work is frequently described as uncompromising and minimalist. Though managing a relatively small firm, he is the winner of the 2009 Pritzker Prize and 2013 RIBA Royal Gold Medal.

About Peter Zumthor. Peter Zumthor nació en 1943 en Basilea, Suiza. Su padre ebanista, Oscar Zumthor, trasladó los conocimientos sobre el tratamiento de la madera a si hijo quien se formó en el oficio desde 1958 a 1962.
Peter Zumthor of Switzerland has been chosen as the 2009 Laureate of the Pritzker Architecture Prize. The formal ceremony for what has come to be known throughout the world as architecture’s highest honor will be held on May 29 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
