29 de nov. de 2019 · One of New Zealand’s top rugby union teams the Crusaders has scrapped its knight and sword logo after a brand review in the wake of the Christchurch terror attack.
Formed in 1996 to represent the upper South Island of New Zealand in the Super 12, the Crusaders represent the Buller, Canterbury, Mid-Canterbury, South Canterbury, Tasman and West Coast provincial Rugby Unions.
In the wake of the Christchurch terror attacks in March 2019, the Crusaders entered talks to rename themselves. The current name has been criticized for being offensive to the Muslim community. In November 2019 however, it was decided the name will remain as is, albeit with a new accompanying logo and wordmark.

28 de nov. de 2019 · The Crusaders' new rugby logo appears to have gone public before the team's scheduled announcement. The new logo, which seems to have drawn from Māori designs, was put up on the publicly available Intellectual Property Office of New Zealand website as a trademark currently under examination.
