Victor Varconi (born Mihály Várkonyi; March 31, 1891 – June 6, 1976) was a Hungarian actor who initially found success in his native country, as well as in Germany and Austria, in silent films, before relocating to the United States, where he continued to appear in films throughout the sound era.
Victor Varconi was a Hungarian-born Hollywood character player who starred in silent films such as The King of Kings and The Divine Lady. He also appeared in many of Cecil B. DeMille's epics and wrote a memoir about his life and career.
Based on his exceptional work as the "Angel of the Lord" in the German/Austrian film Sodom and Gomorrah (1922), Cecil B. DeMille gave him his American film debut opposite established star Leatrice Joy in Triumph (1924), billed now as Victor Varconi.
