Miami Beach, USA. The mixed use development called 1111 Lincoln Road in Miami Beach comprises four different parcels. An existing building, the former Suntrust building, is renewed since the bank has left the building to be accommodated around the corner.
7 de may. de 2010 · We saw this project during its design and construction phase and now, thanks to photographer Nelson Garrido, we present you 1111 Lincoln Road by Herzog & de Meuron completed.
The new building balances two seemingly contradictory objectives. On the one hand, it requires a strong and clear identity in order to attract pedestrian traffic from Lincoln Road. On the other, its architecture should extend the existing masterplan while not competing with the 1111 parking garage. c. c. c. c. c. c.
The new Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) is located in Museum Park, part of the redeveloping downtown waterfront on Biscayne Bay. Its direct neighbours are the Patricia and Phillip Frost Museum of Science and a major freeway, connecting mainland Miami with Miami Beach.

Herzog & de Meuron's design for PAMM is highly responsive to the city's climate and the needs of a young, rising art museum. The three-story building sits upon an elevated platform and below a canopy, both of which extend far beyond the museum's walls, creating a shaded veranda and plazas.
