Nightcrawler ( Rondador Nocturno en España, Nocturno o Merodeador en Hispanoamérica) es un superhéroe ficticio que aparece en los cómics estadounidenses publicados por Marvel Comics, comúnmente en asociación con los X-Men.
It was originally stated in the original Earth X series that after surviving the tragedy that killed the rest of Excalibur, Nightcrawler lost his teleportation powers and eventually became human. In an ironic twist of fate, he was then killed by a group of superhumans affected by the Terrigen Mists for being human.

Kurt Wagner is a demonic-looking mutant with teleporting abilities, being known as the soft-hearted X-Man Nightcrawler.[19] He was the secret child of the mutant precog Destiny and the shapeshifting terrorist Mystique, who used the Neyaphem leader Azazel as a genetic template.[20]
Nightcrawler ha hecho su aparición en X-Men 97 junto al Estado mutante de Genosha. Magneto, con Gambito y Pícara, llega a la isla y mientras va a varias reuniones, Rondador Nocturno les enseña el lugar a sus amigos. A pesar de ser su primera aparición, el personaje había formado parte de los X-Men en la serie original.
Todo vuelve a la normalidad en la Tierra y restauran la Mansión X. Ahora como alumno de Xavier, Nightcrawler es un miembro oficial de los X-Men. Él junto a sus compañeros entrenan en la Sala de Peligro contra los Centinelas Mark I, siendo comandados pro Mystique.
